Tagged in 'I love' game!

Izzy from Izzy creations tagged me in a game called 'I love' so I have to write down 10 things I love. Huh, this won't be an easy game since I love so many things but, here we go... :)

1.) make up
I love it to the point that some people (most people, to be honest) might think I'm obsessed. I have so many beauty products that I don't even have space for the new ones any more. And I have to get another makeup train case (which I already own 2 of them). :D

2.) everything about vintage and shabby chic styles
I really like shabby chic interior design and I love vintage clothes! Too bad I don't have anything in thoose 2 styles, but someday I will. That's for sure. :)

3.) my computer
I'm not sure I could live without my computer. Or Internet, but that's a whole another topic. :D

4.) crime and chick lit books
Okay, crime and chick lit don't actually go together but I like to read such books. It just relaxes me. :)

5.) music
I always listen to music no matter what I do. I just can't work without it. I don't like silence.

6.) photography
I'm not good of taking photos of anything unless it's my jewelry, but I like to watch what other can do with their cameras. It's so inspiring!

7.) makeovers
Any kind of makeovers. I simply enjoy watching before-after pictures.

8.) my mess
Yes, I like my mess. Especially when I'm working on something like these days. That's actually the only way I can be crafty. :D

9.) blankets
I can't fall a sleep unless I'm covered with my favorite blanket. :D

10.) over-sized jewelry
I'm not wearing any jewelry though I make it, but if I did, I'd probably wear over-sized jewelry (necklaces mostly). I just love such big jewelry, it gives such a nice touch to the whole look. :)

So, there's my 10 things I love. It's in no special order, I wrote them down as they crossed my mind. :)

Rules of the game "I love":
  • Write in your post who invited you to this game.
  • Write down 10 things you love.
  • Invite another 10 bloggers to the game.
Unfortunately, I don't have 10 crafty friends at the moment since I'm new here, so I'll invite someone a bit later, when I get familiar with people arond here. :)

Get creative with hot glue!

Few days ago I read something interesting that caught my eye and I just couldn't get it out of my head so last night I had to try it on my own. I'm talking about using hot glue as something more than just for bonding things and to be honest, it never crossed my mind before!

Sandra from Tres Chic blog wrote a post which opened a completely new dimension for me and my creativity! I've been using hot glue for years and never thought of this before, lol!

And now, let me show you what I did! I love geometry so I had to create something geometry alike and here is what I got!

A bit of decoupage, a bit of recycling!

Okay, this perhaps isn't *real* recycling because I haven't recycled any used material, but I finally made up my mind about all those nylon socks I kept purchasing for years now, but never even unpacked them! So, 2 days ago I was determened to throw all of them away, but then it crossed my mind to make few flowers from them and here is what I ended up with!

These flowers are glued to cardboard which I previously decorated with some old-fashioned alike rice paper (decoupage).

How do you like the final look? :)

I'm a flower and I'm messy!

Last nigh I had the most creative day after such a long time! Really don't know what came into me, but I'm glad it did! I also did some recycling and here is what turned out :)

It's not such a great photo because it was dark when I took it

Here is the true color of this necklace, I really love it!

And here is another necklace, with a blue flower and some glass beads:

Hairpins!

Yesterday I finally finished these though it took me so long because I wasn't sure what I wanted to make, and in the end I decided to make few more hairpins. :)

This one is my favorite:

And here are the rest of them:

DIY: cute and simple brush holder

Note: this post was previously posted on my beauty blog here.

I'm always looking for a nice brush holder but never seem to find something I will completely like so I decided to make my own brush holder. Since I'm into DIY stuff, I already have all the tools I needed for this, but if you don't have I don't recommend buying it just for this one purpose. If you'll use it more than once - that's okay, but if not, it's just worth it. :)
And now, let's check how to do this! Before that, an excuse for these bad pictures, but since I was doing it while it was already night time, I couldn't take better pictures, sorry. :/

You'll need:

(stuff that's crossed you won't bee needing, I changed my mind after I took the picture, lol, so that's just some extra tool :D )

(1) empty can (mine had 400 g of tomato sauce in it)

(2) decoupage glue (you can get it in smaller sizes as well)

(3) acrylic color in Ivory

(4) something to measure the can (height and radius)

(5) a napkin you like

(6) pencil

(7) a brush for decoupage glue

(8) pliers

(9) a piece of sponge (there are to pieces on my photo but that's because I thought I'd use 2 colors, but decided not to this time)

(10) a higher glass with water (for the brush when you're done using it)

Here's how the brush holder looks like after all the work:

(natural light)

And now, let's get to work! Continue reading to see how to make this brush holder!
